Summary: I recommend this highly. We've taken cooking classes in a number of countries, and this was one of the best. We were fortunate to do it in the low season, so it was just us, a chef and a translator. We picked the veggies in the eco-resort garden, mashed them up in mortar and pestles, and cooked some of the best food we had in our three-week, five country Asian trip. Really a terrific experience.

Summary: We were just with the 2 of us, nobody else. The chef didn't speak English, so there was a translator, which made the direct contact with the chef rather difficult. We started with picking veggies from the garden. We had a choice between tofu, fish, chicken and pork. We made a mushroom soup with marinated tofu, a papaya salad and laab. Finally, the food was served in the restaurant. We liked the atmosphere and the chef and Mr Tu were very kind and helpful, however we felt that the learning factor was a bit low and the price (116 $) was on the high side taking into account that we paid for drinks and transport as well. To summarise, an English speaking chef would be preferable and the price was a bit high.

Summary: Fantastic cooking course. Carried it out even though I was just one person, not a given at all (my own private class!) The course started promptly on the beautiful grounds of The Namkhan Ecolodge. The chef was joined by a translator to make sure I could understand all she had to share! We did a tour of the organic gardens, the composting area, chicken huts, and even a mushroom greenhouse, my very first! I picked my own mushrooms and vegetables, and even the ginger! We cooked together and made wonderful, authentic dishes, which i will definitely make again. Definitely enjoyed, worth a go!
